VIDEO PHOTOMETRIC ANALYZER
MODEL 204A
Description | Features | Specifications
Video Photometric Analyzer Model 204A

Description:
The video photometric analyzer is a selfcontained video processor designed to provide two analog outputs proportional to the average light level in two areas (windows) in a televised scene.

The position and size of the windows can be varied by independent front panel controls, and is delineated in white in the televised scene.

The video photometric analyzer is used online, interposed between a standard video camera (525 lines, 30 fps, 2:1 positive interlace, 1 volt black to white) and a video monitor. It is also used with other standard video sources such as tape recorders and discs.

Features:
On-line video processing.

Independent front panel control of X-Y position of each window. Window width and height independently variable.

Frequency response to changes in televised scene light level linear from DC to 20 Hz.

Joystick position control provided.

Gray scale resolution one part in 200.

Analog output.

Features characters on the video screen that can be calibrated to indicate distance between the two windows.

External analog drives for X and Y window position (can be used for automatic window scanning).

External analog outputs for X and Y window position (can be used to indicate window position coordinates)

Specifications:
Input: Standard composite video signal. 525 lines, 30 fps, 0.7 ±0.2 volt black to white full scale. Operation for European video optional.
Termination: Standard 75 ohm or high Z, switchable.
Analog Outputs: Nominal one volt full scale (black to white).
Video Output: Standard composite buffered input video to which white window area signals have been added.
Response: DC to 20 Hz. Each window has a 4th order active filter with corner at 25 Hz, removable via bypass switch.
Window Height: 1, 4, 8, 16 and 32 raster lines, switch selectable.
Window Width: Continuously variable from approximately 1 to 20% of picture width.
Power: 100 VAC, 1.7 A, 47-63 Hz.
Weight: Approximately 25 pounds (12 kg).

Industrial Applications:
  • Event detection.
  • Time of flight (velocity) of moving objects.
  • Thickness gauging of translucent specimens.
  • Optical density comparison.

Biomedical Applications:
  • Blood flow rate from dye bolus transit time.
  • Lung perfusion mapping, pulsatile and nonpulsatile.
  • Renal dye washout curves. Flux of red blood cells in capillaries.
